Published/Updated on 25th April 2020 – #DuringCovid19Pandemic

In terms of hardware, we are so far ahead that the devices in the previous years are just as fast as the devices that are being released today. The software that we are using on our phones is not pushing them hard enough to make them feel slower. In the year 2020, a lot of brand new flagship killer smartphones would be coming out in the market and there’s going to be a lot of affordable phones under $500 to $600, and these smartphones with the price range of $500 to $600 and below will be having 90- 95 % of the features and performance of the more expensive ones.

Let’s have a look at some of the mobile
devices which are in news, regarding their launch and of course its specifications.
Before going in-depth about these phones, let us see which are the top picks
for the year 2020.

Top 5 mobile picks for the year 2020

IPhone SE(2020)

The new Apple iPhone SE is a great device for people who want a simpler phone that supports IOS support. Apple Services doesn’t burn a hole in a pocket and delivers the essentials in today’s standards. When it comes to performance iPhone SE  is simply dancing with the flagships, in the CPU test it is right there with the iPhone 11 series in low power mode, which is actually a higher score, and when we switch to the compute test iPhone SE is leading the pack. The body of this smartphone is small at least by today’s standards and is thin and lightweight. Though SE stands for Special Edition officially, I would just state it as Small Edition. The body is also IP67 water and dust resistant and it gives glass pact for wireless charging. The logo on this phone is moved a little down to the middle. This is a budget iPhone which checks all the necessary selling points in the price range, and the selling point would be that it is an iPhone. The single-camera system without any depth sensors and extra lenses may sound less impressive, but the processing power combined with the neural engine and software algorithms, this device can take pretty impressive photos.

In an area, where everyone is trying to release the big flagship phone, I think Apple did a really clever move and just updated one of its old phones. I think this would be one of the best selling iPhones this year for different price ranges –  $399 (for 64 GB), $449 (for 128GB) and $549 (for 256GB).

Other than the camera, this phone has increased the refresh rate from 60 to 90 or even 120 hertz. Huawei P40 Pro

Huawei has announced a few weeks back their P40 series, including P40 Pro. Rumours suggest that Huawei will be ditching the nosh and opting for a punch hole. It would be the first phone to have a 6.58-inch OLED hole-punch display similar to the galaxy assistant family and along with that, they will be bringing a much more refined version of waterfall display. It has a pill style cut-out on the front for the front-facing camera, but this implementation is a little bit different because it is a single 32-megapixel camera and then IR which is going to help with more secure face unlock. It’s curved not only in its sides but also on the top and the bottom. The under-screen fingerprint scanner is about 30 % larger and works 30% faster than last year. The phone already has a 90-hertz refresh rate to improve screen fluidity and not the biggest battery of 4200 mAh, so adding an ultra high resolution on top of that might push it a step too far.
